It turned out that the addition of the letter ‘a’ to the aurin acid would dissipate it, allowing Tomm’s skin to return to its natural state. Dr. Andrew Ramsden, Tomm’s mentor, foresaw that as Tomm aged, the condition would gradually disappear. True to his predictions, Tom’s skin began to normalize during childhood.
