Bigfoot Heard ‘Screaming and Whooping’ in Connecticut’s Sasquatch Hotspot, Spooking Local Wildlife

A new report from the Bigfoot Field Research Organization (BFRO) has rekindled speculation around Bigfoot sightings in Connecticut, where locals claim to have heard the elusive creature’s distinct “screaming and whooping.” This marks the fifth sighting in Fairfield County alone, with several eyewitnesses alleging that the mysterious creature made its presence known in October last year.

In this incident, a witness reported hearing loud “long-duration whooping” sounds echoing through the forest around midnight. According to the BFRO’s report, the sounds did not match any known local wildlife like bobcats or coyotes. The report was only made public this summer after being evaluated as a credible ‘Class B’ case, meaning that although there was no visual confirmation, the witness’s account was still taken seriously by investigators.

“This voice had quite a bit of ‘power’ behind it and was carried over a significant distance, likely over a mile from my location,” the anonymous witness recalled. The unusual vocalization reportedly set off a chain reaction in the area; all the neighborhood dogs started barking, and the typically active owls fell silent.

Connecticut’s Sasquatch hotspot has long been a center of intrigue, with over 25 reported sightings in the last seven decades. The BFRO founder, Matthew Moneymaker, explained that while sound-only reports are often harder to verify, this specific case was deemed credible after ruling out local wildlife.

Remarkably, this latest incident took place near a railroad bed and power lines, a pattern noticed in other sightings as well. In February 2022, a Bethel resident reportedly saw a “very tall large all-black upright figure” chasing a herd of deer through her backyard, close to the same power route.

With 11 sightings in Litchfield County alone, Connecticut remains a hotspot for Sasquatch enthusiasts and believers, and with each new sighting, the mystery of Bigfoot continues to captivate the public imagination.
