Wes Studi’s: Native American
Studi served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his service. After his military service, he became involved in Native American theater and eventually transitioned to film and television acting.
Throughout his career, Studi has been a strong advocate for Indigenous representation in the entertainment industry. He has also been involved in activism and advocacy for Indigenous peoples, including supporting efforts to protect sacred sites and advocating for the rights of Native American veterans.
In 2019, Studi made history by becoming the first Native American actor to receive an honorary Academy Award for his contributions to the film industry. He continues to act and produce films, and his work has been recognized with numerous awards and honors.
