700-Year-Old Enigmatic Sword Unearthed From Stone Leaves Archaeologists in Awe
Was it really King Arthur or not? Earlier this year, some documents emerged claiming his presence in history, but now more concrete evidence has surfaced in the depths of a Bosnian river. Archaeologists have unearthed a rock-cut sword believed to be the legendary ‘royal Excalibur’, the sword of King Arthur himself. This 14th-century sword was found embedded in stone at the bottom of the Vrbas River in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s western region.
Legends about King Arthur abound, from his marriage to Geneva and leadership of the Knights of the Round Table, to possessing the Excalibur sword and being laid to rest in Avalon after his final battle with the traitor Mordred. However, historians have been unable to confirm the true existence of King Arthur, leading to a longstanding debate about whether he was a historical figure or merely a hero of Celtic mythology.

At the University of Bristol in the UK, historians stumbled upon seven fragments of manuscripts and manuscripts relating to Merlin, King Arthur, and the Holy Grail.
